CO is a coworking center offering shared workspace, meeting and event spaces, and connection for entrepreneurs, freelancers and businesses. We are located in Rhinebeck, NY in an architect-designed building that was created for inspiration, innovation, and collaboration. CO is cooperatively-owned and operated: our business model mirrors our mission to serve and bolster our growing community.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

The Community Manager is the beating heart of CO! You will work closely with CO's Co-Founders and Board Members Hélène Lesterlin, Claudia Cooley, and Johnny LeHane to create, implement, and manage systems for the daily operation of CO.

 

Community Activation:

The Community Manager our primary person to activate community and make sure that CO is a lively, thriving place!  

  • Ensure CO is open and welcoming each work day 8:30am - 5:00pm, working alongside and leading a handful of daily hosts to supplement the minimum 20 hours / week you are on-site and hosting.  

  • Maintain a presence at CO, get to know members, be an accessible and vibrant source of information and inspiration! 

  • Create and manage events, curate and share information through social channels and member communications.

  • Coordinate and ensure active digital community engagement through social media and email communications.

 

Manage and Oversee CO’s spaces:

  • Responsible for providing front desk presence, conducting tours, and managing the building to maintain smooth functioning of our coworking and meeting spaces. This includes a minimum of 3-4 days in-person at CO to oversee the management, booking and general maintenance of our coworking, meeting and event spaces, and to train and manage daily hosts to ensure coverage during open hours. 

 

  • Client Support and Sales: On-boarding and supporting members and clients (answering questions, providing tours, administering keys, helping with payments, etc). You ensure smooth functioning of our memberships and client payments, using online POS and industry-specific app-based membership management. 

 

  • Events: Manage client and CO-produced events. Tasks include sales, orienting new clients, communication, contracts, staffing, overseeing setup and cleanup.  

 

  • Marketing: A monthly newsletter, social media engagement, marketing support - your creativity is welcomed here!

 

  • Maintain Physical Space: Responsible for overseeing the friendliness, cleanliness and maintenance of our spaces, including keeping the space neat, managing cleaning and maintenance services, communicating with building management as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A people person : we’re looking to provide excellent customer service every day

  • Top notch organization and management skills: setting up systems to help CO run smoothly

  • Self-starter: there is room here for your ambition and creativity

  • Great communicator

  • Good understanding of payment processing and general comfort with simple contracts + operational knowledge of online POS systems a plus

  • Working knowledge or eagerness to learn technical amenities in the space including:

    • Sound system

    • Screen and Projection systems (being able to hook up computers or other devices to projector and sound)

    • Technical troubleshooting capabilities for printer and wifi

  • Slack, Google Drive, and social media savvy

 

COMPENSATION

 

$15/hr-$20/hr depending on qualifications

Approx. 20 hours/week (between 3-4 days/week)

There is the possibility for growth into full time and more responsibility over time.
